Parents
Parents and Guardians you are the most important person in your child’s life.
Since your child was born, you have been teaching them to communicate. By speaking and listening to your child, by talking and reading to him or her, by pointing out words and notices, you have introduced your child to the world of language - spoken and written.
Your child has now moved onto the next level and has started school, and although their teachers are playing a big role in their learning, you are still just as important, if not more. Being able to read, write and communicate to others is so vital in all our lives. This helps us to both communicate and understand, to express ourselves and be understood.
When they are playing the games and using this website, help your child with the games, which will help you understand what they are doing in Doodle Den. Talking with your child regularly extends their language and listening skills. It helps grow their confidence with language and also reading.
Talk to your child’s teacher or Doodle Den facilitators, they will be more than happy to give you ideas to help you in reading with your child.

We are listed in the Early Intervention Foundation's Guidebook.
Doodle Den is listed in the Early Intervention Foundation’s (EIF) Guidebook.
The EIF Guidebook provides information about early intervention programmes that have been evaluated and shown to improve outcomes for children and young people.
The Guidebook also provides a wealth of information about the specific outcomes a programme has been shown to improve, how the programme works, how it is delivered, and the conditions or resources that can make a programme more likely to be effective.
